On the weekend of August 5-7, Troop 46 had a canoe campout on the Wisconsin River from Gotham, WI to Boscobel, Wisconsin. The weather was great, here we are loading up the canoe a Gotham Landing.
Everyone was amazed on how much gear, fire wood, water, food the canoes could hold.
We started on Friday afternoon and paddle for about 3 hour and found our first island to set up camp.
It was great, we had lots of room for everyone to spread out.
So much so that a great game of football was played.
Yes there was cell phone coverage, so the dad’s could check in with there wives. Foil packs were the dinner for the night.
Clearly no one was having a great time.
Day two we packed up again.
SM Boyd put a sail on his Kayak.
On second day, we stopped at a couple landings. At the first one, we refilled water and at the second we got ice cream.
On the second island we found a cove, that was a great swimming hole.
We set up buddy tags,
And then everyone had a great time swimming. Thanks for our lifeguards, here Mr. Turner takes a turn.
Later that night a storm came thru, and it got a little windy.
But our spirits remained high
Sunday morning, we all were still a bit wet, as the rain lingered off and on, but everyone made it to final landing
Committee Chair Mr. Williams and SM Boyd decided to jump into the photo. What a great trip.
