For the October campout, Troop 46 when to the Richard Bong Recreational Area in Kenosha WI to launch rockets which they made. Each Scout had the opportunity to create their own rocket and launch it. On Friday night when Troop 46 arrived at the campsite, each patrol setup their tents in their respective areas.
On Saturday after all had breakfast, the Troop gathered their rockets and headed to the launch site. On the same weekend, a rocket club was there launching their rockets in the launch area. The Troop got to see and experience the rocket club launch their rockets.
The Troop gathered their things and prepped their rockets. Before rockets could be launched, each rocket needed register and get permission to launch. There was a wait line to launch rockets.
The Troop lined up their rockets on a launching pad, and waited their turn.
In the meantime, they got to observe other rockets launch.
Some of the rockets didn’t launch so well, while others soared to the sky.
Overall everyone had fun with building and launching their rockets, with most of them having successfully launched.
